Thank you to our incredible supporters at Apex Contractors for keeping our wheelchair campaign rolling along by donating a whopping £4,000 to our Thirty at 30 appeal.
The Bexley-based company pledged to make a £25 donation to charity for every conversation they had at Kent Construction Expo. Some 160 conversations later, an opportunity arose to make a massive charitable impact by donating £4,000.
Steph Harris, Head of New Business and Social Value at Apex Contractors, said: “Our staff nominated The Medway Hospital Charity, not only because of the support they have given their families, many of whom live in Medway and Swale, but also because of the proximity of our Chatham Waters project. This 75-bed care home will be a purpose-built elderly living facility will feature community-oriented amenities such as a dementia-friendly bistro café, hair salon, cinema, and sensory rooftop garden, fostering social interaction and wellbeing.”
Donna Law, Head of Charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen by the team at Apex Contractors to receive the £4,000 donation.
“Their generosity will enable us to buy wheelchairs, two, three, four and five and will make such a positive impact for less mobile patients who need to get around Medway Maritime Hospital.
“Thanks to Apex’s support, in less than a week we are one sixth of our way to our £30,000 target and we cannot thank them enough. We look forward to welcoming the team to the hospital once their wheelchairs arrive.”
