Calling all knitters!!

The Medway Hospital Charity is appealing to knitters of all ages to put their needles and wool to good use by getting involved with its 2022 Easter campaign to help raise vital funds for Medway Maritime Hospital.

To take part, simply download and follow the FREE knitting patterns, which are available via the charity’s website – Easter Knitting Appeal – The Medway Hospital Charity

Patterns include chicks, daffodils, ducks and mini egg baskets. All donations will be sold around the hospital from March with all monies raised going to the charity, which uses the funds to buy equipment and enhance facilities for patients, visitors and staff at the Gillingham based hospital.

Cheryl Jones, Fundraising Officer, said: “Knit up as many wonderful creations as you can and be as colourful as you like – the quirkier, the better!

“If you haven’t got access to the internet, you can collect copies of the knitting patterns from the fundraising team at the hospital, or you can give us a call on 01634 825398 and we’ll be more than happy to post one to you.”

To help reduce the risk of infection, please:

  • – Place all knitted items in a sealable clear bag (such as food bags).
    – Date the bags so all knitted items can be quarantined for at least 14 days before going on sale.

  • Donations, which need to reach the charity by Friday 18 March at the latest, can be dropped off at the volunteers’ desk in the main hospital entrance, or posted to Knitting Campaign, The Medway Hospital Charity, Medway Maritime Hospital, Windmill Road, Gillingham, Kent ME7 5NY.
